The Community Transformation Foundation Network (COTFONE) proudly joins Ugandans across the country in honoring the men and women – past and present-who have dedicated their lives to transforming our communities through selfless service, courage, and visionary action.
As an organization committed to human rights, environmental conservation, education access, and community development, we recognize that true heroes are not only those in history books, but also those working quietly and consistently in schools, farms, forests, clinics, and homes -building a just and sustainable future for Uganda.
“At COTFONE, we salute the everyday heroes-women and men who champion rights, restore hope, and protect the environment, even in the face of adversity,” said Yisito Kayinga Muddu – the Organisation’s Executive Director, adding that; “Their spirit defines the Uganda we believe in-resilient, compassionate, and united.”
On this occasion, COTFONE calls upon all stakeholders—government, civil society, media, youth, and development partners-to amplify efforts that empower local heroes, especially those at the grassroots level, where challenges are greatest and change is most urgent.
We also reaffirm our commitment to nurturing youth leadership, promoting social justice, and protecting the environment through inclusive, community-led programs.
As Uganda commemorates its heroes, let us all ask: What legacy will we leave? What will we stand for?
Together, we can be the heroes our communities need bold in action, firm in values, and hopeful for the future.
